What about Cardio?

We get that question a lot because people do not see any treadmills or elliptical trainers.  The short answer is that when you “do cardio” your lungs do not necessarily know what the body is doing only that it needs more oxygen and therefore the lungs have to work harder.  Our workouts make your lungs (and everything else) work hard…probably harder than they ever have.  None of our members are lacking in cardio respiratory endurance training.  For a more detailed response read The CrossFit Journal article, "What About Cardio?"

What are the benefits of CrossFit-style training?

Quantifiable benefits

•    Clients build muscle and get stronger and faster.
•    Measurable health indicators such as blood pressure, resting pulse and BMI all improve dramatically.
•    Increased range of motion of major joints.

Client-reported benefits

•    Look better, move better, and feel better.
•    Quality of life improves through better sleep, increased energy, and weight control.
•    Daily activities that were difficult are now easy, such as gardening, cleaning, carrying groceries, biking, hiking, and climbing stairs. This is especially true for people whose activities were limited by old injuries.
