CrossFit: Now With Levels!

You may have noticed that classes have been getting larger and more chaotic lately! In an attempt to better serve you, our cherished clients, we are changing up how classes work.

Beginning Monday, December 6th, the majority of our classes will be designated either Level 1 or Level 2. Our Ladies’ Night and Heroes and Sheroes classes will remain All Levels.

This will allow everyone to receive more coaching attention, as coaches will be able to focus on the basics in Level 1 classes, and work on more advanced skills in Level 2 classes. Everybody wins!

Now you might be thinking — how do I know if I’m Level 1 or Level 2? And what happens in November? So let us explain.

We’ve published a handy list of skills (for men and for women) at which you will need to become proficient in order to graduate to Level 2 classes. We do not expect you to check off all of these skills in one day. Instead you will work through them at your own pace as you gain relevant strength and capacity.

To that end, we will be printing each of you a copy of this skill list which will be kept in a large folder at the front desk. To check off a skill, you will need to locate an appropriate authority (Keith, Sam, Kurt, Elizabeth, or other coaching staff) to witness that you are completing the skill with good form and full range of motion.

Those of you who are already accomplished CrossFitters should be able to blow through this list before the month of November is out and be all ready to join Level 2 classes the minute they begin. Others of you will have to spend some time working on your weaknesses before you’re ready for Level 2. Either way, it promises to be fun!
