Programming Update!

As you might have noticed, CrossFit Virtuosity’s programming changed on Monday September 16th.  We wanted to take the opportunity to answer some of the questions we have been receiving and invite you to participate in the ongoing conversation about it.

1. What is the new programming?

It is a 5-week periodized cycle with rising intensity for three weeks, followed by a light week and finishing with a test week.  If that sounds like a lot of fitness nerd BS, just know that some weeks will feel “harder” than others and we are building a program designed to make you good at the stuff you love doing while not avoiding the stuff you hate.

2. What happened to Ladies Night/Heroes and Sheroes?

While this has been a tradition of CFV for years, we are experimenting with a break from this for two main reasons:

A) It isn’t always a good idea, from an improvement perspective, to have two serious metcons on those two particular days.  This can harm your ability to recover and prevent you from benefiting from the serious strength and power training that you will be participating in.

B) We want everybody, not just those who can come on Wednesdays and Saturdays, to be able to participate in these fun, community building workouts.  We love the Metcons, too, and it would be sad if our weekday only people never got to suffer through a Hero WOD.

3.  I love this/hate this/am completely indifferent!

Well, let us know!  Since Kurt is writing the program, you can always talk to him in person or write him an email at [email protected].  If Kurt’s too scary (or you have something you would rather share anonymously,) send an email to Sam at [email protected].

Thanks for being a member of both our gym and our community.  We wouldn’t have the awesome jobs that we do without you.  Thanks for the support and we look forward to sweating along with you!

Seconded. I’m enjoying the new programming. I love metcons but this has felt more well rounded and challenging in new and refreshing ways. Keep it up Kurt!
