So You Want Be A CrossFit Coach?

Have you ever considered becoming a coach? There’s an indescribable joy to sharing the CrossFit experience, helping people through the highs and lows of their fitness journey, and getting more involved in the Virtuosity community.

We pride ourselves on our incredible coaching staff, and have developed an extensive apprenticeship program to develop coaching excellence in-house. As our membership grows, we’re interested in enrolling more new coaches in the program.

Stage One: Apprenticeship

All coaches begin as apprentices. This stage of the program is designed to help new coaches learn the basics, become familiar with working with clients, get a better idea of what we expect from our coaches, and learn the Virtuosity coaching style.

Responsibilities

  • Assist at least two classes per week
  • Attend twice monthly weekend coaches meetings
  • Complete homework assignments (approx. 5 hours per week.)
  • Set an example of excellence: perform movements with correct form, display good sportsmanship, follow the house rules to the letter, and generally represent the best of CFV!
  • Display a commitment to self-development both as an athlete and as a coach.

  • Priority access to the vast knowledge reserves of Keith and our other advanced coaches.
  • Individualized feedback from our advanced coaching staff
  • Free coaches-only workout prior to each coaches meeting

Stage Two: Assistantship

Interns who show dedication and promise may be promoted to the Coaching Assistant position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist at least two classes per week
  • Attend twice monthly weekend coaches meetings
  • Complete homework assignments
  • Set an example of excellence: perform movements with correct form, display good sportsmanshipfollow the house rules to the letter, and generally represent the best of CFV!
  • Display a commitment to self-development both as an athlete and as a coach.
  • Set an example for greener coaches and assist in their development

  • Gratis membership
  • Free use of small locker
  • Free BBC/CFV schwag every once in a while

Stage Three: Coach

If you excel as an assistant you will be considered for a full, paid coaching position.

Please note that not all applications will be successful.  All positions run quarterly and are reassessed at the end of every calendar quarter (1/1, 4/1, 7/1, 10/1.)
