I’m super strong… and I can fit into my pants again!
I’m a recreational triathlete and this is my third tri season. After hibernating through the fall and winter (in which I gained 10 pounds in less than 6 months!!!), I decided I needed to step up my training regimen by incorporating strength training sessions into my tri training schedule. And although I consider myself to be very athletic, up until that point my training solely consisted of cardio and the thought of doing anything other than running, biking or swimming mortified me. I knew I needed some professional help.
Thus began my journey for the “ideal” trainer — someone who could help me achieve my simultaneous goals of improving my triathlon times (becoming a faster triathlete) and burning off the winter “chub” (so I could fit into my summer clothes and my bikini again), all while making tough workouts fun and enjoyable.
I shopped around at several gyms and met with multiple trainers, in hopes of finding the perfect match: a great trainer who was both highly knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, and motivating — to drive me to push my body to the limit. Luckily, I found Keith! Thanks to his training techniques (i.e., high intensity, full body CrossFit workouts), wealth of knowledge and encouraging words, I’m running at higher intensities and faster speeds, hills are a lot easier for me to climb on my bike, and I’m swimming at faster intervals than I was just a few months ago. I’m also deadlifting 135lbs and squatting 125lbs — which I never thought I’d be able to do. Oh, and I can fit into my summer wardrobe again!! At this rate, I’m hoping to drop some serious time off my triathlon splits, squat and deadlift my own body weight, and sport some serious abs on the beach this summer. Thanks Keith… You’re the best!
