Thursday is “Ladies’ Night” here in Brooklyn, but that doesn’t mean men aren’t invited. Everyone’s welcome to come down and test their luck with one of CrossFit‘s special “Girls.” The Girl workouts are benchmarks which we use to test our athletes and measure our results against other CrossFitters around the world.

Why girl names? Coach Glassman says, “Anything that leaves you flat on your back looking up at the sky asking ‘WTF happened to me?’ deserves a female name.” Adjust your expectations accordingly!

    1:04 slower than my pr so not thrilled with the performance. Was making great time on until huge tear on my left hand around pullup 70. Last 30 were slow and painful. Situps sucked as usual.

    Started wendlers 5-3-1 program today to on a journey to get stronger. If anyone is interested in joining me let me know. I can fill you in on the basics.

    That sh*t was BANANAS!!

    Pull-ups were significantly more horrible than everything else.

    32:21 or something….green bandy and paralegs (yes I’m a weakling, but I promise to get stronger :)

    19:51, almost 10 minutes better than first time I did it in November 2009. Starting Strength – it works. Pushups were my biggest weakness the first time and no question the Starting Strength program helped tremendously with that.

    Just performed surgery on my 7 blisters – OUCH! Luckily I only ripped once – Emily not sure how you hung in for 80 more after ripping.

    Never done this one before but was shooting for sub 20 mins. Crushed the squats in the last 135 seconds!
