Thursday is “Ladies’ Night” here in Brooklyn, but that doesn’t mean men aren’t invited. Everyone’s welcome to come down and test their luck with one of CrossFit‘s special “Girls.” The Girl workouts are benchmarks which we use to test our athletes and measure our results against other CrossFitters around the world.

Why girl names? Coach Glassman says, “Anything that leaves you flat on your back looking up at the sky asking ‘WTF happened to me?’ deserves a female name.” Adjust your expectations accordingly!

    I need to start checking the leaderboard so I don’t losing to other leaderboard times by seconds.

    I did get a 12 minute PR though, so I’m pretty happy about that.

    4 x 400m intervals with 90s rest this afternoon, part of the long road back to speed. 86s, 88s, 86s, 81s.

    Much better than last week.

    Back Squat 1RM: 290 (25# PR). Missed 300 twice. Next time.

    Press: 140 (5# PR) apparently, resting your shoulder makes it stronger. Maybe I should apply this to the rest of my body and just stop working out.

    Deadlift: DNS. Twinge at 315 resulted in a wave off. Since I pulled a 365# 1RM yesterday that makes my composite total 795.
